Anduril Buys Space Tracking Firm ExoAnalytic Solutions

Defense technology company Anduril Industries is acquiring space data firm ExoAnalytic Solutions as part of its push to strengthen U.S. capabilities in monitoring activity in orbit.

ExoAnalytic operates a global network of around 400 telescopes used to track satellites and spacecraft traveling in high orbits tens of thousands of miles above Earth. The company collects observational data and converts it into analytical tools that help U.S. national security agencies monitor foreign space assets and manage American spacecraft in orbit.

According to Anduril, the two companies have collaborated closely for several years on multiple defense programs. “They are experts in space domain awareness and missile defense,” said Gokul Subramanian. He added that the company believes the United States Department of Defense should have access to the most comprehensive catalog of objects and activity in space.

The financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Meanwhile, Anduril is reportedly working to raise a $4 billion investment round backed by firms including Thrive Capital and Andreessen Horowitz.

Following the acquisition, ExoAnalytic will be fully integrated into Anduril rather than operating as a separate subsidiary. However, the company is expected to continue supporting its current and future external customers. Anduril currently has about 120 employees focused on space defense, and the addition of roughly 130 ExoAnalytic staff will more than double that team.

The acquisition could strengthen Anduril’s ability to secure government contracts tied to Golden Dome, a large-scale air and missile defense system under development by the U.S. government. The program is expected to rely on thousands of satellites designed to track and intercept hostile missiles, making real-time coordination and space awareness critical.

Anduril is also preparing to launch three internally funded research spacecraft this year. Subramanian said the newly acquired technology and expertise from ExoAnalytic will support an infrared tracking satellite scheduled to launch in partnership with Apex Space.

In addition, space-tracking data from ExoAnalytic will support two high-orbit missions planned for later this year through collaborations with Impulse Space and Argo Space. These projects aim to enhance the ability to monitor and coordinate assets operating far above Earth’s surface.
